18. Neapolitan Mastiff

The Neapolitan Mastiff stands out with its loose, wrinkled skin and colossal size. Rooted in ancient Rome, they sport a prehistoric vibe. Gentle giants, they weigh up to 150 pounds and stand 24 to 31 inches. Their wrinkled faces and droopy skin once guarded them in combat. Despite a daunting look, they’re affectionate with family. Protective yet rarely hostile without cause, their short coat comes in black, blue, mahogany, and tawny. Early socialization and positive training tame their strong-willed nature.
