3. Komondor

The Komondor, or Hungarian sheepdog, is striking with its massive frame and unique corded coat. Weighing over 100 pounds, these dogs are surprisingly swift. Bred originally to protect sheep in Hungary, Komondors are renowned for their power and guarding instincts. Their coat naturally forms cords, resembling dreadlocks, which shield them from brutal weather and predators. Despite their bulk, they’re tender with family and remarkably patient. Their coat needs dedicated grooming to stay clean and healthy. Intelligent yet independent, they require steady training from seasoned owners.
