8. Brussels Griffon

The Brussels Griffon wins hearts with its expressive face. Nearly lost during the world wars, these rare dogs survived thanks to passionate breeders. Highly social, they hate long solitude. First bred to chase rats in Belgian stables, they’re now adored companions. Their coats, rough or smooth, come in red, black, black and tan, and beige. Their human-like expressions and iconic beards stand out. Small but bold, they’re bursting with character. They form tight bonds with owners and may struggle with separation anxiety if left alone too often.
